Sad even though Tulane, the Saints, and the Hornets may have no home attendance this year. We really are fortunate that we actually have a home.

Boy no kidding. Clair, just avoid saying that anymore because it NEVER happens.

Don't worry. The city now contracts its traffic work out to private firms like mine and WE fix the traffic issues. In fact, thats a big part of what we do...go back and fix what the City-Parish or State dumbasses were to incompetent to do right the first time around. In fact, knowing what I know now, it wouldn't even have taken much for that to happen. But hey, the is La. Lol. Our traffic operation systems are so simplistic and outdated that it's not even funny. We're doing the best we can, but this massive influx is going to kill us.

The biggest problem with having the game is the refugees ON CAMPUS. That is it. Right now, I suspect that O'Keefe is doing whatever he can to get them somewhere else. I know and have heard of several groups of girls that are afraid to come back to class and are considering dropping out of the university for the semester. If that is not a good enough reason to clear the campus I do not know what is.

Campus cleared = Saturday Night in Death Valley

The university cannot handle a season without home football games. Too many consequences.... Refund all season tickets.... No concessions money... But hey, remember when our biggest problem was whether or not the stadium would be ready?

If our games are moved to away games until November, expect Tiger Band not to be anywhere until that first home game. I don't see the athletic dept paying for any small group of members to travel all the way over there for every game without having any of the income they would normally have. (Yes I know that this last paragraph is a drop in the bucket at this point.... but understand that Tiger Band is my sole source of income at this point :yelwink2: )

Skip the whole thread and read this post if you want to get a handle on whether LSU plays in Tiger Stadium next week. :thumb:

Everything that has been pointed out will be an issue in week 4 as much as week 2. As long as we do not hamper the rescue operation, play it in Tiger Stadium.

"Right now we're doing everything we'd normally do to get ready for a game," LSU spokesman Herb Vincent said. "But nothing in our world is 100 percent for sure. We're playing the situation day by day."

Whether that process involves seeking permission from any governmental entity to play the game as planned was unclear.

Vincent said most of the communication between the university and city, state and federal agencies has been focused on the ongoing recovery and relief effort on campus and around the city and parish and not whether to play a football game.

But there's a sense that LSU would like a green light before proceeding.

"We want the recovery and relief process to continue and to get our arms around those things before we go ahead," LSU Athletic Director Skip Bertman said.

"We think it would be good to play the game here, but we would like the governor's approval."

As it stands, the only clear-cut logistical hurdles LSU might have to scale are securing hotel rooms for the ESPN television crew and making sure there is enough security and traffic control personnel to staff a game.

Walter Monsour, Baton Rouge Mayor-President Kip Holden's chief administrative officer, said the university does not need permission from the city to proceed with a game. However, with city police and East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff officers needed to assist with the hurricane relief effort, LSU might have to arrange for its own security force from law enforcement agencies from outside the immediate area.

If those details are handled, that may then leave LSU officials figuring out what ethical and moral balance they need to reach before playing a football game with a triage area and makeshift morgue next door at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center and military helicopters flying in and out of Bennie Moore Stadium with sick and injured evacuees.

Well, we suspected it, amigo. You say more about yourself than you realize. But don't worry about it. We were all young and naive once. And you are not alone in being a teenager on Tigerforums. A few here are in their second decade of being a teenager.
