During the days leading up to the Sugar Bowl, we made an effort to put them all in one thread. So that our team got the recognition it deserevd and the forum was not dominated by Saban threads. People come here to share their thoughts and opinions and no matter what we try to make ourselves believe, the Saban story is related to LSU. It strikes at the very core of our passion for LSU that brings us to a forum like this. At this point, it's officially the off season and the Saban topic is THE topic for almost everyone. Then there some of us are LSU basketball fans as well so that's our focus.
Invariably, when we talk OUR coach Miles, his name will come up, so I guess that would mean throwing all our threads regarding OUR coach into the "Saban forum" and frankly that makes me sick. This the reality of our situation, lets deal with it, and we'll conquer this snake in the grass a-hole and be done with it soon enough.
What smack forum? Brett dropped it last year. This will all settle down soon and we'll have to deal with the off-season lull.
That's a look at it from a delusional bammer. The other side of the coin is Mike Ditka's view of $aban......"I don't understand why anybody would want him. He's gonna be hard pressed to win big there. I mean, why would a player want to go to Alabama instead of Florida, Auburn, LSU or Georgia? I mean, it's not like Bear Bryant is still there for God's sake. The guy left a great job (Dolphins) for an average job. The lying really bothers me. The guy said he had no interest in the Alabama job and in the meantime he and his agent were negotiating a deal the whole time. (From article in USA Today)
Ditka's opinion and $.50 will not even buy a cup of coffee........worth about as much as any "delusional bammer's" opinion. Huh? Besides Ditka is about as relevant as Bama football was for the past 10 years.
if it were Ditka alone I would agree but I could fill a page with similar quotes from around the country. The problem is you bammies are so grateful for $aban coming (knowing it would be real desperation time if he turned you down) that you have lost sight of the reality of the situation. bama's image is taking a beating on the national scheme. you can deny it all you want. You lie sometimes, I have lied, but $aban had told more lies in the last few weeks than I have told in a lifetime. Heck, a former boss of mine in California who is not a grad of any SEC school sent me an e-mail yesterday saying "Bama gives $aban $4M a year? You have to be kidding me."
