Now its getting real ugly. Lets just hope no legal mess ensues. This story will have some national headlines but it will be dragged on forever if a legal mess is ahead.
http://www.wwltv.com/sports/stories/wwl030807khchatmantourney.2fea177f.html Personally, I won't comment on "Innapropriate behavior" until it has been defined; there have been coaches fired-or who have resigned- for "Innapropriate behavior" when it was out drinking with the players too. Also, let's not forget about a soccer team at another school- how unfair was the "Speculation" to the families of those young men who ended up being innocent. I know I'm in the minority but the only thing that matters to me is that our girls need a coach and why she's leaving is just not that important- though I wish what may lie ahead could have been avoided, cause what she's done for our program is commendable. I would hate to see something someone posted on a forum land them in court. :thumb:
Pokey WON't coach the team in the tournament. Coach Starkey is acting as the intermin head coach. http://www.lsusports.net//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=822081
Definitely not the best scenario for our girls going into the tournament without their coach. Hope they can stay focused and write a happy ending to their season.
I going to have to disagree with you this time Tiga. I think it would have been that much harder for the team to focus with her traveling with the team. Now they have a coach who concentrating at the task at hand and hopefully it will rub off on the players before the tourny. Pokey made a statement that the rumors spread more than she expected so she decided to leave now to keep the distraction away team. However, it was probably Bertman who told her this is what needed to be done. Distaction from the media will be there anyway but what can you do. Now lets go win a championship. Geaux Tigers
