The old Library on Chimes had the best hot roast beef in town. My favorite was the Joe's Special which was a muffaletta with hot roast beef instead of cold cuts. The Blue Boy was also good. Hot roast beef po-boy with blue cheese. Some eatery ought to adopt these old favorites.

Georges on Perkins still has the best shrimp po-boy in town.

sorry for the error of my ways........

I thought something different for awhile may be nice. I brought back Belushi as US Senator Blutarsky. I will alternate it with the COLLEGE one occasionally.

I know. I didn't get the HS&C every time I ate at the Library.

I think with that sandwich the flavor was awesome, but I loved the texture...

...the bun held it together JUST LONG ENOUGH before it would fall apart in your mouth...

...the atmosphere at the Library was perfect for doing NOTHING...

    ...but eatin' an' drinkin'....

...probably one of the most laid-back bars I've ever been to...

I knew a guy who would always go to the Library to cash a check even if he was going to go to another bar or club. His dad monitored the cancelled checks he wrote and the guy figured that if most of his checks were written to "The Library" his dad would think he spent most of his time studying.

Making the Chimes Street rounds I guess his dad would have REALLY hit the roof if he had written his checks at Magoo's or Leisure Landing...but the Country Store probably would have passed muster.... :D
