In order for that to happen, a combination of the following would have to occur: the Committee would have to keep a one loss TCU team out (CCG loss), a 1 loss Michigan team out (another CCG loss) and USC would have to lose (CCG loss) to be a 2 loss team. We know that UGA and UM will be locked in even if they lose their CCG. Any one team that gets bounced otherwise (USC/TCU) would be replaced by 1-loss tOSU. USC will get bounced if they drop to 2-losses. So in order for BAMA to have a shot, the committee would have to bounce a one-loss TCU team that lost in its CCG. Would the committee do that? Much of the country would explode over that. I don’t see BAMA getting in. I see a greater probability of the Big-10 having two teams in the CFP before BAMA gets in.
Which brings up something that surprised me yesterday. The officials picked up a flag on a definite pass interference before the half, didn't give us that last TD, and (in my opinion) Moose was committing offensive PI on both of his one-handed catches (which were one-handed because he was grabbing our DB with the other (props to him for those catches, btw). We squarely got our asses handed to us, but I sort of thought we might get the benefit of close calls since the SEC could have gotten two teams on the CFP. But I guess that only applies to Bama?
If Michigan loses to Purdue, in the ONLY CCG with an unranked team, in no way do they deserve a mulligan. Outside of the last game, their schedule is a statistical nightmare with 7 teams at even or worse.
She is. Finished her undergrad last May. She enrolled in a program that allows for an expedited double degree so she's in her last year and will have her Masters degree next May. It's gone by so fast! How are your girls?
My older daughter is graduating from UNT in May with a degree in human development. She would like to get a masters in mental health services and become a child and family counselor. Before the masters, she probably will take a gap year and work. My younger daughter is a high school senior and likely headed a thousand miles from home next year to go to Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.
I don’t think the committee would drop them at 12-1 and having blow out tOSU at their place. it’s not so much what we think should happen, it’s what will happen. I just don’t see it. In fact, I don’t think any of the undefeated teams playing this weekend in CCGs will be dropped from the CFP. USC, really, is the only question. Will it be USC or tOSU? USC wins and they are in. USC loses, and I still think tOSU gets in and gives the Big 10 two teams in for the first time. Calling my shot here.
