Well that certainly explains why we take out the one quarterback actually capable of running an offense and replace him with the other who has had possibly the worst night of his career up to that point. That is Crowton's baby all the way, no need for a Maury paternity test here.
Take everything Miles says with a grain of salt. He said after the Ole Miss game last year that the clock management problems would be corrected.
It's possible he might have been laying the groundwork to blame Crowton. but frankly I don't think the man is capable of thinking on his feet that far ahead. He probably truthfully related what happened and just gave his standard boilerplate about how things will be corrected, blah blah blah.
He also said postgame that they only called 1 play when JJ went out which was the run. He also said they should have called 2, which would have been run, then clock it. I am assuming that they didn't call 2 because he figured that Jefferson would have enough sense to hurry up and clock it. Les has been tied to the hip with Jordan Jefferson and it has been said that Les is placing his job in JJ"s hands. I really hope he isn't going to be the same ole stubborn Les and try and let JJ play his way back into good graces. He has blown his shot. I have never, EVER, seen a player progressively get worse with more experience, and JJ has done that. Now you know why the offense was so terrible last year. It was because JJ is an idiot when it comes to quarterbacking. I am sure he is a great kid, and I do feel for him, and hell, we may need him down the road, but he has squandered his chance to be the leader of this team. It's Lee's time again.
Put it to you this way. If Jordan Jefferson is the starter for Florida, I'd put good odds on Joe Alleva marching into Les' office the following Sunday with a $13M buyout check and says thanks for playing, but you're done. Jimmy Ott said after the game that Les is already on razor thin ice with the AD, and according to his source the money is there to buy out his contract.
Well... obviously... the players are going to hang CLM from the flagpole by his underwear. :rolleye33:
I agree. I have always thought that Crowton is the real fool here. Now i also concede that Les is top dog and ultimately he is in charge so the crap falls on his shoulders to fix it.
You sir, are 100% correct. Thanks for bringing us back on point. At this point, I also would predict that we would agree that it will absolutely happen again. The only question is When, Not If...
