My father would have been excited had that been all I'd done.......some of the bad choices I've made would make many of these kids look like altar boys.

While the "Information Hwy" has done a lot in spreading the stories on a nationwide basis, I think there has been a fundemental change in the way officers of the law treat people; not just athletes. We see the attitudes and treatment of suspects on youtube, on TV reports, etc., and it's evident that the care of the people has been replaced, by some, not all, to more of a "let's see whose arse I can kick tonight."

Take Slim Castille as example. Here you have one cop saying "let's call the athletic department" with the other saying, "no, let's let Saban find out about it in the newspapers." He began his enforcement with the quote, "So, you are one of Saban's boys." No doubt, he had further things on his mind than simply getting the kids to settle down.

While I can understand the way some police officers address their jobs, the disprect they feel from certain members of society, I tend to fall into the belief they've brought a lot of this on themselves. Years ago, we had the same kids doing the same things. But, if a players was drunk in public the officers would give them a ride home. Now, it's all about getting the story in the papers.

No disrespect to any members of the force on here and I want to preface by saying there are MANY good police officers; however, around where I live (We're talkin rural here......very) I've noticed and have often said that most of our police officers (Again, locally) are people who, in high school, nobody listened to.

Sounds like one of those officers might have been a little jealous of the "Athlete" and maybe he wasn't "Tough enough" to suit up on Friday nights.
