    What you are saying is certainly true, but it irks me that Les Miles doesn't get afforded the same courtesy. The '04 season was a disappointment, though. Our team played without much passion a lot of the time, plus there was that @$$-kicking at UGA that year. Also, the team came into fall camp fat and out of shape.

    Imagine if Les' team this year did that?

    I think the "#2 Nationally" is a pretty good reminder for that not to happen. But, yeah, you're right, if that would happen Les would get it.

    Had Michigan made it to the national title game in 06 Lloyd Carr would still be at Michigan..

    Wasn't 2004 the Cotton Bowl loss to Texas and not the Iowa game? Either way, you're right about the season. While everyone knew Randall was a helluva guy, we also knew he was limited at QB and couldn't wait until the next season when JR would (supposedly) take over the team.

    Cotton with Texas was at the conclusion of the 2002 season.

    The one thing I found amusing is Staples—as well as a lot of others—are still crediting Urban to Foley.
