    hey thats something.

anyways it is sort of an annoying white person meme these days, pointing out that you cannot actually fight a war on terror. as if somehow we were not aware that terror is not a tangible thing you can drop bombs on. white people say it and i dont understand wht point they think they have made.

saying that doesnt make the war any less valid, or explain way any of the reasons for the war. and the hypocrisy of it all is that barack obama, who is the messiah of the folks who say these stupid things, is well aware that "the war on terror" is important and he is in favor of it and is currently increasing the size of it. it is of no consequence if he uses the phrase "war on terror" or not. oddly enough, policy is what is important.

i mean the "you cant have a war on terror", is not as annoying a white-person meme as "john stewart is better than the real news" but it is pretty annoying nonetheless.

its not as annoying as your overuse of the word meme or white-man guilt.

its just choice in political speak. of course he's continuing the war on terror. its hard to appease anyone -muslims or soft american public-by saying it out loud however.

well, annoyance is in the eye of the beholder. but i tend to be annoyed by those things. as far as i can tell, annoying white-person-guilt-memes are pushing our politics in a direction i do not like.

people are way too much into words, and not enough into policy. obama is continuing/increasing the bush policies in afgnaistan. he is continuing the bush wire tapping laws, keeping the abuse photos secret, pretty much following the cheney policies. and this is good, obama is reasonably good at foreign policy. but the white guilt folks love him like he is the anti-bush. "we have restored our place in the world community" they say. "the world respects us again". and they say this because obama isnt as straightforward and honest as cheney. he just makes an effort to be charming, which he shouldnt have to do.

The phrase is rhetoric and bs. It is used to ramp up support for military action, never ending military action. It is not in our best interest to be at war until civilization ceases to exist. We are at war without congress ever voting to declare war. We don't need to be at war with terrorism, but we need to deal with it. Words are very important and the term "war" wasn't chosen by chance. It is deliberately used.

Do you advocate sniffing out every little military camp that hates America and descending on them with the full force of the US armed forces? We'll be running around until the end of time and we won't be better for it. The idea that we can defeat terrorism is preposterous, at least without an oppressive world government. And just watch Star Wars; those heroic terrorists still managed to sneak around the Empire.

You want to bury our nation chasing the illusion of safety? It should be taken seriously and combated, but simply jumping from war to war is foolish and irresponsible.

well the current generation has been indoctrinated to feel this way. not white-man but americans in general.

we currently have a president reinforcing these feelings on the america apology tour.

thats what politics are. duhh please everyone yet doing what you want.

what is it that obama is doing in afghanistan? war, right? is that war not necessary? should we allow afghanistan to fall in the hands of the taliban? what if the taliban allows terrorist camps, where they plan their next mass killing of americans?

well they have to do more than hate america. i hate america sometimes. but if they plan terrorist actions then yeah.

first we should tell the country where these camps are to get them out of their country. then yes, i favor blowing those camps to bits, killing everyone involved.

i agree, it is a long term thing. you cant rid the world of lunatics overnight. it might take hundreds of years of constant killing. so be it.
