come to think of it, this is about the time of year the specs start making their way farther up Bayou Terrebonne. I may have to walk across the street and throw the line a bit. Last year, we limited out several nights in a row.
all right, you've gone past ruthless to just plain mean! when you cookin? me and the girls will be there. Fishhead, I'll pick you up on the way through Dallas. Nootch is cookin for all of us.
not good. 3 specs, 2 reds no wind at all, tide was pretty much at a stand still, no birds diving. all signs pointed to a bad day, and it was one.
That's 3 more specs and 2 more reds than I have caught in the last couple of years. You know, it's true. You just don't appreciate something like you should until it's gone. Counting down the days til Thanksgiving. Going fishing the day after.
tried again yesterday. 1 keeper spec. only a handful of throwbacks. the nothings were out in full force. talked to several other boaters. we had a somewhat successful day compared to some of them. still too much water out there. haven't had a hard enough cool front yet. if we can get a couple of them back to \back to push some of this water out, we'll be in business
We're having our first big cold front of the year right now. It looks like it may push your way a bit. I brought all of the plants in tonight - we should hit about 29 tonight. Hopefully it will be good for next weekend (after Thanksgiving). I sure hope my kids' first trip is a good one.
