I don't blame the loss on the call, bad or good. We had lost the game before that by only being up by 6, and allowing them to score on a 4th and 12. I mean what are the statistical chances that they would miss a PAT? Had we made ours, at least there would have been OT. It was a hard fought game, but we made some errors throughout the game. Really, it shouldn't have come down to needing them to miss a PAT. Auburn outplayed us, and they have the W to prove it.

In response to how the rules commitee could let that rule through, I read somewhere that Saban said he voted against it. I'm not saying it's not legit. If it passed and it's in the books, then it's fair. But man, can you imagine how mad he must've been to lose a game on a newly added penalty that he voted against? I'm glad I wasn't on the sideline next to him.

Also though, I don't have this game taped, so I can't go back and watch it, but didn't the ref call the penalty on #9? That's Early Doucet. I've read that it was Prude, but according to lsusports.net he's #8. Does anyone have the game taped and can verify what the ref says, cuz I'd swear he called it on #9. Just curious.

Yes, it was called on #9 incorrectly. It was Prude # 8 who jumped and may have fallen on an Auburn player.

I was just curious if anyone knew or had a way of finding a total on the number of injuries resulting because of the lack of this rule. It just seems unnecessary to me. I wouldn't know the first place to look but I would think it wouldn't be many.....NFL or NCAA in the last 50 years or so.....if it is a rule in the NFL....
