JMHO, but it bears mentioning that Perrilloux entered the game after it was convincingly decided and against a thoroughly exhausted MSU defense. RP also ran a very limited playset, so I can't understand how anybody could reach the conclusion that he came close to outplaying Flynn .... it's just not the case.
I'm watching the Syracuse/Wash game, the announcers just mention that Matt Flynn started a little slow but had a great game last night and they believe he will one of the best QB's this season, a real sleeper no one knows anything about. Hmmmm.....:yelwink2:
Based on last night, I think Jarett Lee should be 2nd string. I know he didn't get any snaps yet, but he was highly recruited, and has a tremendous amount of talent. Everything I've read about him playing against High School defenses make me think he's the best option. [/sarcasm]

I think you guys know I've never been a consumer of the Perrilloux Kool-Aid, and I should hope you know I'm not a pot stirrer. That said, I gotta say this...I can honestly see where people are getting this line of thought from. I was at the game, and when Perrilloux was in...I was at a much better vantage point than when I first got there.:yelwink2: In fact, I was very close to the field, and had a great view of him running the offense. I will say that he looked more calm, cool, and collected while he was at the helm than Flynn did in the first quarter. I was impressed by the little we were able to see of him last night...shocked, actually. I'm not saying yank Flynn and put Perrilloux in, but the ones that were impressed by RP last night have reason to be...to be honest, I thought Flynn would come out and light the world on fire. I know it's MY fault that I thought that, but I did...and he didn't. He didn't play poorly, just didn't light the world on fire. Maybe we expected too much of Flynn and too little of RP, so it gave the appearance that RP did so much better. Just don't throw them under the bus for thinking he did a good job...because you'll have to throw me under, too.
I know you're not stirring the pot, so don't take this personally. But the situation RP came into, and the one Flynn faced were completely different, and are tough to compare to each other. Flynn started against a fresh and emotional D, while putting up with those obnoxious cowbells. RP came in against a D that had been that was tired and beaten, in front of an empty stadium. As far as Flynn not lighting it up, that was more because there were no play calls to really allow it. Miles/Crowton felt we could dominate this game with a Pee Wee league playbook, and we did. Without seeing the complete offensive scheme in action with Flynn at the helm, nobody knows how capable he is or isn't to run it. Until RP gets into a game in a similar situation to what Flynn has done twice with greatsuccess, nobody knows how good he is/isn't.
