Team chemistry would be a problem if he was bad-mouthing the defense or the O-Line or his skill position players, but he's not. As far as I know, he's not. So why are y'all so worried that someone like Claude Wroten would get irritated by him saying he's better than Russell and Flynn?

P.S. I don't see Russell backing down to Perriloux, so if anything, both of those guys will probably elevate each other's games. Flynn I think is out of this race. He has not shown anything. If you had to compare him to a QB from the past, it'd be Rick Clausen.

I really don't see why everyone should get so worked up about RP's comments. My take on this is as follows:
Like a few of the other tiger fans posts, I also feel that RP is just being straight or up front with his own feelings and perceptions. He WAS stating the main reason why he chose LSU, with the inconsistent plays of JR, and the rather obscure position of MF(I actually like MF and feel bad that he wasn't given much chance to play QB last season). His comments, unfortunately, can be taken in different ways; I think it's the stupid reporter at USA Today that gave his comments a negative twist, and got quite a few fans reacting with so much negativity. I honestly do not think RP intended to put down his future teamates, nor was he aware that what he said could be taken as such. Can someone say that he did not say the truth about the QB situation?
Either way, I think it's a win-win situation for the Tigers. His keen sense of competition would surely fire up both JR and MF, with all three competing at the highest possible level of play for the job. What's wrong with that? No time for whining, and may the best guy win the job and give the team the best chance to succeed. This spring and summer may prove to be very interesting and exciting. If RP is able to perform as reported by the start of the season, would the fans rather not watch him play/start because of his "mouth"? As for the team chemistry, it's not just how well you can get along well with the others, but also depends on whether your teamates respect your ability and leadership on the field. That's why if RP succeeds, I believe the team will come around him, and that's why I am not as concerned about that. I important point that was mentioned earlier is that he is no thug like Kellen Winslow!

This kid's mouth is a problem and will create problems in the locker room before it is all said and done. Trouble is brewing. I made the comment once before and will make it again...Nick would not have put up with this crap...from a freshman no less!

    Question.

How would Nick Saban be keeping Ryan Perrilloux, a current high school student, quiet?

Miles has talked to RP, had a sit down meeting with him evidentally. I started a new thread on that since this one had taken a few turns and twists all the way to HBO.

It is time for a true confession....

    I am Ryan Perilloux.

I know it may come as a shock to you, because I have presented myself as a middle aged mother of three. Please forgive me for the deception, but my anonymity was crucial to become one of you, albeit I had to really get into the role as that of an air head.

That being said, I must say that I have learned alot from this thread. I do have some regrets. My comments made on signing day and presented in yesterday's paper as if they were new has definately caused some ill will. Possibly amongst my new team mates, but evidently here on Tiger Forums.

All I can say is that I am a work in progress. I am in need of coaching on how to present myself to the media. I think that the mock interview that was presented with mock comments about the great team I am joining and my desire to play as a starter were right on and I will try to remember that in the future.

    Until then.... I remain yours,
    Ryan P., Your LSU Quarterback

No, no, make that your future and hopeful LSU Quarterback

PS. Just kidding and hope that I am not accused of Identity Theft.

PS Do you think RP and other players read these forums?

PSS I agree with many things on this thread, but wish to reitterate that RP needs coaching on how to address the media and that coaching will be given. I am sure that the message will be delivered by the coaches, player leaders and the staff at LSU, that has as its sole purpose the education of the players in Public Relations.I believe it is lead by a Dr.Karam. If Ryan continues in this vein after starting LSU and having been coached, then everyone has every reason for the criticism. But, until then, let's hope that he is coachable in all the aspects needed to become a quality team player and give him a break. He may be the guy that will get us another one of these :crystal:.
