Fightin Tiger Said, "I can't lie. I hope Russell or Flynn light it up this fall and teach this kid some humility". Me too, but if they play like the did last year I hope RP can do what he says he can do. So does about 99.9 % of LSU fans. The other .1 % is hoping he fails so they can say I told you so. LOL
I think all of us can at the very least see how his comments are harmful to the team. Well at least I hope everyone can. However, I think it is asking a bit too much to expect the kid to act any differently than he is. He is being himself, however unfortunate that may be in this case. However, the most we can ever hope for out of someone is that they be honest and true to their word. On the other hand, there is absolutely nothing wrong with people referencing his comments and expressing concern over them. It's not like anything this kid says is surprising though. We all know he is cocky and confident. Time will tell as to whether or not this confidence will translate into him starting sooner, rather than later.
I wonder what Miles is thinking when he reads these comments. I also wonder what Miles' policy is on freshmen speaking to the media. It would be in Perrilloux's best interest to cool it with all this talk.
Both of these equate to a the qb being down. Sorry but like Saban said he had a lot of hype to live up to and getting more each day.
I agree. He runs his mouth, but sooner or later you got to hit the field and sooner or later you are going to get hit and hit and hit. No need to run your mouth at the expense of teammates. As for throwing the football, who cares about sixty yard throws with your knee down. As far as I can see, we need qbs who can throw flat passes, 7 to 12 yard down and outs, and drags across the middle with accuracy and touch. That's our bread and butter. And excuse me Mr. RP, but I happen to enjoy watching our awesome running backs move up and down the field. And I hope their running chances aren't diminished because LSU needs to make sure you move up to the next level sooner rather than later. Shut up and put up. This ain't high school, and if Dautrive is so great, how come he's still coaching high school?
the funny thing about this entire thread is that we are bad mouthing an 18 year old kid who, quite honestly, probably does not know any better. lets change places for a second......you are argueably the #1 recruiting prospect in the nation this year, every school that exists is wanting you to come to school there, and your play in high school backs up these claims. Do you go quietly in your moment to shine???? Most likely you do not. With that being said, you talk the talk you walk the walk. I expect very big things from RP based in his comments and history so far. It will be exciting to see how this plays out.
it aint bragging if you can back it up! time will tell. I hope he is a lawnmower and the rest of the SEc and our opponents are GRASS. :geauxtige
JaMarcus Russell will improve and turn out to be just as productive and valuable as RO was a few years back..... If JaMarcus plays half as well as he did in the Cap One bowl next season, RP will have to wait his turn. It took RO 3 years to develop....I see JaMarcus being one of the best QB's in the SEC next season. He re-dedicated himself to the game mid-season last year. RP must remember that the great Michael Vick sat his first year(redshirt) at VT....
