No, I'm not saying we don't want athletes with that attitude or anything. I'm just saying that people respect kids that want to get an education as well. RP wants to go to the NFL... If I had his talent, I would to. However, he needs to learn that LSU fans would respect him more if he didn't go around telling the media he doesn't want to be here long.

    Good for Ryan.

He's gonna start as a true freshman. So everyone be prepared.

Come September when you clowns acutally see how good he is, then you will understand:

I think he will be head and shoulders better than all the rest on the roster...

AND he is a better leader.

I for one want a team with great chemistry. (See New England). I liked the way MR handled the up and down of last year (confident but humble). I liked the fact that LSU players use to be quoted swaying I play for the name on the side of my helmet not the one on the back of my jersey". RP does not appear to be cut of that same cloth.

It is tough to build unity when one of the players is taking shots at fellow teammates in the media. And he is not even on the team yet.

The more I read about this kid the more I think he needed a coach like Saban to make a decent human being out of him. I believe I can see why he did not want to play for Saban he appears to think his **** don't stink. I hope that he has an awakening and does not become one of these players that you just say shut up and play.

Don't know this Dautrive fellow but I must say it appears in the snippets I see that RP got some of his attitude from being treated like a god in high school. Not Impressed

    He was beign honest!

I guarantee JaMarcus and Matt would probably admit that they have a lot to work on!

That is the thing about Ryan:

Starter or not, he will bust his rear to make sure that he and the backups get better.

We had probably one of the best backups in the state this year at QB: Ricky Dixon, and this guy couldn't throw a rock 10 feet before Perrilloux worked with him last summer.

I just think that the man is a great leader by example, and he wants to win... who can fault someone for feeling that he gives the team the best chance to win?

Some of you are acting like this is another Kellen Winslow.

Once again, I would bet the farm that most of you have not seen him play. In due time, in due time...

    THANK YOU BB!

Best post of the early year!

    People don't understand:

65 yard throws on 1 knee and 40 yard throws while lying on the ground isn't anything normal!

    this kid has got it!

I do not care how great of an athlete he is... you dont flame your teammates in the media. High school you can put the team on your back and get it done, but in college and the pros it requires a “team” effort.

Good teams have abilities to rein in individual egos, hopefully Miles can do this with RP (and anyone else that comes in with that chip on their shoulder) and get them to drink his brand of kool aid.
