Sad to see so many of you think this is no big deal. :nope: Says a lot about the lack of values we now have as a society. Seems like this kid needED role models a long time ago...like parents maybe...that would've instilled some discipline in him at some point...instead of relying on coaches to do it for them along the way.

You can all say what you will about this being "minor", and "no big deal", but this is most definitely, as JayB put it, evidence of character flaws. Nobody's saying this kid's a murderer or rapist, but he's got felon in his future from what I've seen.

If you don't think this tarnishes LSU's image, you need to get your head out of the sand. And yes, LSU's image is important...moreso than any one player...who hasn't started the first game...and probably never will. He'll have himself to blame for that. Can you say Cecil Collins? Ricky Williams? Think it's not the same? Little things at first...that led to, essentially, non-careers...and prison, in the case of Cecil. Hopefully RP gets his head screwed on straight, and goes on to have an illustrious career...at Southern. Sorry, but I don't want LSU to be looked upon the way I myself look at programs such as "the u" and F$U. Texas has got to be thanking their lucky stars about right now. It's embarrassing.:dis:

The Feds did not implicate RP, they questioned more than 20 people about the fake $$$$. He used the money once in a gas station after the money was red flagged by the FBI. More assumptions on what happened during the FBI incident doesnt even relate to this incident. Sure he might hang around some poor friends. But I have done the same because I cant just leave them out to dry. I am sure he has learned that lesson. All that happened was no information was given by the FBI or lawyers so everyone decided to make up their own scenarios.

Now the incident only involved one individual, not a group of friends. I am surprised to see so many on this board making a bigger deal than it probably is without knowing the facts and making assumptions. I think many have the wrong idea about him, he is labled to have an ego. I think he had an ego in HS but he has showed over and over that he can patiently wait his turn and not bail on the team like so many Tiger fans predicted. Therefore, I think his confidence is always going to be considered an ego because of his senior year in HS. Give me a break, it was a minimal incident at best and the media is going to jump all over it becuase there is nothing else to report on.

Thank god none of you were judge and executioner when I had a fake Id in COLLEGE. Good thing none of you had beer underage in COLLEGE.

Come on we are talking about something almost assuredly half this board ( most likely more) has done at some point in their life only you weren't in the spotlight for the world to know.

Not saying no punishment should be handed down but an indefinite suspension for something any random kid you choose from the team would have on them.

I think it's a bit overboard and I'm not even an LSU fan.

Something noone seems to be mentioning. MAYBE, just MAYBE Miles knows more about him, and this situation than any of us. And MAYBE has a reason for the indefinite suspension. Until Miles makes a statement, I will reserve judgment, and bank on Coach doing the right thing.

    Generally agreed BUT -

With the benefit of the notoriety of being the #1 prospect AND the #2 QB
on the preseason #2 ranked team you gotta know that this is the downside of the notoriety.

When everybody knows who you are, you can't get caught doing dumb things like this.

The suspension really means nothing when they aren't puttin' on the pads.

Great point. It's assumed Miles is "firing a shot over RP's bow", but none of us know if it wasn't aimed right at the starboard side!

No I do not know all the facts but I do know what I posted above is true from numerous sources within the athletic program and publications after RP was cleared. One being the man all the way at the top.

Not to mention, barring an injury, all things point to him being #2 on the depth chart anyway.
