From what I understand, the first incident was fairly innocent (assuming that the information given out was correct). If so, he should not suffer much in the way of consequences as a result of it.

I'm a college student. Same age as RP. I agree with TenTexLa in that RP is giving LSU the wrong kind of media attention. I can't help but point out the hypocrisy of a bunch of the members here (not insinuating you, TigerFan23) when just not long ago everyone applauded CLM for his quick and definite actions regarding those three players.

So far (publicly) RP has been in trouble with the feds, got caught driving with a suspended license and now trying to get into a casino. I'm not even going to talk about some of the other situations that he was implicated in. Now, I'm speaking from experience when I say that college students can be pretty sneaky and get away with a lot of things without being caught. Kind of makes you wonder what else Mr. RP has been doing. I think a lot of you would like to throw the book if it would have been a lesser known player.

But the fact is, it seems to me that RP has severe character issues. That is coming from a college student who has gotten away with A LOT of things in his time. I am not naive to think that all college athletes are angels, but gambling, counterfeit money, hanging out with questionable people, having a suspended license, etc., etc., jeez. I'm not sure that that's something I'd consider minor.

Lighten up, dude. All I'm saying is this really isn't as big of a deal as a lot of people are making it out to be.

It's the off season, not a lot going on so of course it makes the sporting news, anything salacious normally does. I caught the last 10 minutes of PTI today and they were talking about Reggie Bush being dumped by Kim Kardashian........who freakin' cares?

Keep it in perspective and remember that nobody knows what is being said to this kid behind closed doors. CLM will deal with it properly.

I heard that the feds pretty much forgot he was even implicated in the whole fiasco and gave him the benefit of doubt. He still has a court hearing per WAFB.

Serious character flaws? Based on the information released concerning the counterfeit money, he was unaware the money was counterfeit. Aside from this last incident which is a misdemeanor, the only legal infractions he has are a few traffic violations. Sorry, but I see no evidence of "serious character flaws" here. He may have done something dumb in using his brother's ID card to get in a casino, but college kids are known to do things like that. But I would agree that he needs to wake up because athletes generally don't have the latitude other students have.

I agree you cant list counterfeit b/c if he was really dirty the FEDS would have charged and not just try to use him as a snitch. "Serious Character flaws" could be said about Troy Giddens but not RP.

Well, hopefully that first incident is just a mix-up, but it has to go deeper than any of us know. The feds don't just bounce up and try to implicate someone of false charges. Now, one of his friends may have relayed his name to the authorities which effectively implicated RP which shows you the kind of people he hung around with. Plus, I doubt that the feds would come knockin' if all he did was unknowingly use a few fake 20s. Traffic violations. Fake IDs. Like I said, I'm FAR from an angel and I've never gotten implicated like that. Maybe RPs worst enemy is his stupidity. I know that if I were a star QB on scholly at a major school, I'd be a little more careful. Has Flynn or Russell ever gotten any of this negative media coverage? This kid needs a wakeup call to correct these character flaws.

WBRZ reported that the Feds kind of let the counterfeit thing slide provided he stayed out of trouble. No matter how minor this is it could land him in hotter water. Sounds like the kid needs role models.
