If I told you a kid had been shot, investigated by Federal authorities and had several misdemeaner summons for various offenses all before he was 20 years old, what would you say?

Now I'll tell you he was just being a kid and none of this attributed to much of anything what would you say then?

Sure...the shooting was a terrible accident but it's just crazy that this kid hasn't learned that there are situations and circumstances that he should avoid. It is his judgement...or lack of it...that I question. Not the offenses themselves.

I don't know what would happen to Joe Sixpack if he flashed a phony ID, but a misdomeanor ticket doesn't seem unreasonable. The news fury comes with the territory of being famous, the suspension part of the same fallout. (Somewhere in there was a statement from CLM that this incident was not the only reason for the suspension) Put all of this together, and I don't see what's "insane."

I think the problem with this player is his arrogance and entitlement issues. Probably, from an early age, he was a special player and was treated differently than everybody else. He doens't think the rules applies to him, and so he continues to repeat a pattern of stupid mistakes.

Just look back at his press conference when he announced he was going to play for LSU. He said something like LSU was perfect for him because he could come in and start playing immediately because all the other LSU players weren't as good as him.

Funny how you interpreted the actions of an 18 yr. old, just out of high school.... in ONE interview so differently than that of a graduating college student, waiting to be drafted to the NFL- Oh wait, I forgot BQ was white. :dis:

And I suppose driving up in a Hummer limo complete with entourage to make your announcement at the College Football Hall of Fame, flashing your high school championship rings, announcing you'll win 4 more at ND is the height of modesty. :dis:

everyone keeps writing "fake/phony ID". that conjures up images of him at a desk in a dark basement wielding and exacto. everyone realizes that he used his brother's id, right?

i wonder if the law makes any distinction there?

I agree and the fact is its a damn shame a 20 year old college student cant go to a casino or buy an alcoholic drink. Thank god I grew up in the 80's!

I dont know why you got criticized for the post (probably because of your double standard history on this forum) but it is true. He's been a special player in highschool and a special prospect coming to college. Yes, he did say Flynn was a no competition and Russell was a struggling QB and that he would eventually beat him, but little did he know how hard it is to learn the system (2 years and he still couldnt get things going). And yes, this looks more like a pattern of behaviour, when did we hear about Russell or Flynn getting into any sort of trouble? Just like the QB is the face of the franchise in the NFL, the college QB is the face of the team in college. I thought any player would get the crap straightened out of him if he was involved in a federal investigation but it seems like it didnt, and this is just a careless attitude. Not to mention it is completely stupid for a guy like him to do not just because of the consequences, but a guy like him is known all around BR, so flashing a fake ID wouldnt really help!!! Im not one of those guys who will say burn his ass for 2 reasons, the first and most important is he's still young and its a shame not to give him a chance. Second thing is we are really thin in the QB position and we cant afford to lose our starting QB for the next few years. Now for those who say what the hell, it's not a big deal. Well, it is. It's not the first time he gets in trouble this year (2007/5 month period), he's the QB of a top school and his fame is already touching the sky. So the only way these kind of small acts help is in tarnishing his name and resume. Now all rival schools fans' would be calling him the next Mike Vick, which I hope he's not. I still have faith in the guy and I hope this event is a turnaround point for him. Let's hope we see a new RP next season that will develop on and off the field.:thumb:

Bingo! I'm o.k. with bitter, just don't like double-talk. Seems to me he should be worrying about his own QB situation. I got this link from an LSU fan here. :hihi:

Holy chit Bitter!! WTF dude?? :hihi:

This makes RP's ticket look like Romper room. And you guys are just turning a blind-eye to it.
