so a victim cannot be harmed in the pocketbook?

martin said it himself, losing money (even to a casino) hurts.

I don't feel sorry for the casino for not taking away RP's money at a table, slot machine, etc. And I couldn't care less how much money RP would have won or lost while on the boat.

I'm surprised you haven't retorted the notion that RP is the real victim for not being able to do what he pleases.

that is so obvious it doesnt need to be said. of course RP is the victim. all he wants to do is enjoy himself and he has to deal with all kinda crap

(i am not being sarcastic, not at all)

edit: this still reads like i am joking, but i am not. the worst he should get from the guy who sees his fake id is "nice try kid, go away". instead he gets a damn ticket, a suspension, a news fury, it is insane.

RP situation is like Pokeys. Remember how everyone thought Pokey was taking the Florida job at first (No, he doesn't like men...as far as I know).

If you think Miles is just being hard on him because of the casino you are being oblivious to the situation.

To add to this, I think the situation could have been a lot worse for RP if he was busted in Tigerland, where Miles banned all players.

This latest occurence is probably more reflective of a pattern of sub-par behavior, rather than just a one-time thing, being a big deal. That, combined with the fact that this latest issue so closely followed other recent problems on the team probably influenced this suspension to a large extent. Several team meetings have taken place in recent weeks and months related to these types of issues.

I will be very suprised if RP ever takes a snap as the starting QB at LSU.

Now this guy is on-the-money. ANY of you out there not drink before you were 21???? Give me a BREAK! I hate to show my age, but the law was 18 back in my day and I remember sitting in the Pizza Hut in New Iberia with my buddy that had a key and drinking drafts when I was 16.
Yeah, he was wrong, he'll do his pennance, but use a little common sense here. Stop crucifying the guy for doing what almost all college students do. When he does something worth talking about, we can continue this discussion. Just let the guy do his punishment, let Miles show his no-tolerance rule, and LET IT GO!

Doe no one on this forum remember the gambling issues (football point shaving---no pun intended, since it was operated out of a barber shop) of the early '60s? Nor, the athletes recruited from reform schools? Nor, the thugish players who beat up other students for no reason? Or, football players kicking in car doors of fans after games?

AND NOTHING HAPPENED TO THEM!!!! Going into a casino on fake i.d., that doesn't come close to what went on here decades ago.

Some posters act like LSU has never had players causing problems until recently.

    GET REAL!!
