Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and I respect your opinion...although I disagee with it. But to be clear, I never said he commited a felony, is a felon, or that this CRIME is a felony. What I meant is that, IMHO, his actions show a bad pattern...very Art Shlichteresque. He has shown enough stupidity to warrant the label "future felon". Whether he was an innocent bystander in the counterfiet thing or not, anybody with any good sense would try to stay away from ANY trouble for a while after seeing the attention that brought. After that incident, he should have made it his mission to not even be seen jaywalking...as some have compared this to. Gambling and athletes don't mix too well, even though I fully realize he was probably going to pull a few slot arms. Still stupid, and still illegal.

BHelm, I am going "overboard" about this as an LSU fan...someone who cares about my school's football program. The media won't go as "overboard" as I have because RP is a nobody, nationally speaking. Crap, he's a nobody period as far as his college career is concerned. He's done nothing positive as a Tiger. I know he hasn't yet had the opportunity, but he's done nothing. Nobody knows about him yet from a national perspective. If this had been JR last year, you better believe it would be a bigger story in the media.

And another thing...apparently Les Miles thinks it's a big deal, too.

I've tried to stay out of this arguement, but it just wasn't meant to be. The truth is that many people are only behind this guy because there's nobody else behind Flynn. If this was a 4th stringer, most people would be calling for Miles to deliver his notorious Iron Fist.

    I agree.

He is in national spotlight, is arguably the leader of this football team, he's been given an incredible opportunity to play for the greatest college football team, and he goes and does this crap. Is going on a casino boat really worth it?

Please excuse me for only quoting your comment but yours was the last that was used to this opinion. Yours was probably the one that made the best sense but I didn't have the energy nor do I believe everybody wants to see 1000 replys to basically the same quote....

    Here I go...

Are you people kidding me? Are you serious that you didn't know anybody that used a fake ID? Not only did I use them in college but once I went to my friends debutante party in Houston I bought a fake ID and it worked everywhere from Vegas to LA! Still have it in my memory box!!!

I don't have a problem with him getting a punishment but some people need to remember what it is to be a kid and want to grow up faster then time allows! I know I would slow it down now if I had the chance but when you are a kid you want everything in fast forward!

Anyway I am not trying to change your outlook of your "perfect" world but I think a little reality to most college kids life is needed here.

Just remember when you wanted to be older and couldn't WAIT to get all your rights you THOUGHT you deserved! Come on Beastie Boys..."fight for your right to party!!!"

Kids are kids and college kids are college kids no matter what thier title is!

I am concerned for the same reasons, I was born a Tiger, and I always have concern for the football program. I repsect your concern and opinions as well. I just see two opposite sides here and I want RP to be taught a lesson but I dont want it to be made into a huge fiasco because it is the LSU program and a national spotlight player out of HS. I want there to be a middle ground included in this discussion as well.

BTW, any player who steps onto the LSU practice field, waits patiently for his turn to shine, develops, and works hard for his team is not someone I consider to have done nothing positive with his time here.

We are two LSU fans with valid points and concern for the program like everyone here. I dont doubt your loyalty one bit for having a different perspective on the situation.

Dont really know if this is true since it is not from Les' mouth but sounds like they are going to give him a shot to redeem himself.
