And the lack of African American nominees. First of all, the only role I can think of that was worth mentioning was Beasts of no Nation. Straight Outta Compton? Really, that's supposed to be an Oscar worthy film? Ninja Please. I've had a straight outta Compton cd, or those songs on a player since 1989, but this movie is a joke. So yeah I can see why it wasn't nominated. Creed? Really? Another Rocky movie should be nominated just because it's about Apollo's son? How about earn nomination with a great film or a great performance. I have no problem with Idris Elba being nominated, the guy is incredible, as was Beasts, but all these others, poo poo.

But he does have a suggestion. "a solution to the diversity issue could be found via practices enforced by the National Football League, specifically the Rooney Rule. Enacted in 2003, the Rooney Rule requires every NFL team to interview at least one minority candidate for head coach openings and other senior positions. "Why can't Hollywood do the same?" Wouldn't it just be better to shut everyone up with making quality movies?
Domnhall Gleeson qualifies as lilly white....he starred in 3 nominated movies but didn't get an invite to the Globes. Maybe Spike could make a movie about the struggle of the irish actor who meets the struggling black actor....they could call it Down Lewer.

No, no, no....you have it all wrong, we need quotas. You shouldn't have to earn aything, it should be given to you, it's the liberal way. Ten years from now there probably won't even be a winner, everyone will just get a participation trophy. That should make everyone happy.
I haven't seen it but Will Smith is a good actor. Whether or not his performance was better than the 5 white actors nominated I couldn't say.
Ive been trying to catch up on some movies but even decent movies like Creed, The Revenant, Southpaw and even The Martian; all really good but all missing something too imo. Its like they dont take the time anymore to develop really great movies when the opportunity with the cast and producers is there. Or maybe its just me. This race thing, I dunno. I dont think anyone deserves shit for the most part, white or black. But I havent seen all that much, either. Maybe the Oscars should just say no ones really worthy of their ego awards this time. Hand out honorable mentions until further notice. This movie called Zipper was interesting to me. I think it was supposed to be eliot spitzer since it was a young prosecutor working his way up the political hierarchy brought down by some NY escort service. got shitty reviews but i enjoyed it. Maybe just give one to Leo so he doesnt end up with some lifetime achievement award before he gets an actual oscar. Or maybe Tom Cruise. I dont think he has one either. which is kinda crazy.
