I for one will not ever listen to the words of a Traiter. Sean Penn is like Jane Fonda of the Vietnam era. To me their is no greater crime against your country than to be used by the enemy in a time of war against your country. If you disagree with the political opinion of our country then use the Rights guaranteed to you by our Constitution . Free Speach and the power of assembly to help change the opinion that you disagree with. Sean Penn has no business doing what he is doing in Iraq or Iran or any other country where his soul objective is to make the leaders of this government dont have the support of the American people. I for one will never attend ,watch, or support in any way a film he has anything to do with. That is my right as an American and by God i will exercise them. Freedom has a responsibilty that is built into it. I would be willing to die for any American's right to voice their opinion in a way that the Constitution guarantee's. Even if i dispise what they are saying. I just will not forgive people who do it in the country we are at war with. People who think i am not serious in my statements dont know me. I have not purchased a Pepsi product for over 20 years because of the way a Pepsi employee treated me . This country is not perfect and i disagree with alot of what is going on in Washington from both parties. But I love this country and i dont like seeing arrogant actors use their popularity as a way to abuse the Freedom that many people have died to have live on.
Mr. Hand: "That's it, Jeff! I'm tearing up your passort. No one wants to hear what you have to say about Iran, Iraq, or anywhere else." Spicoli: "Bogus! Like, I'm a serious actor and stuff! I know waaaayyyy more about sociology, geopolitics and surfing than you!"
Calco, you make some great points and I first thought Penn's trip would be yet another mission of propaganda. So, I've read Penn's stuff about his trip to Iran with a skeptical eye, given my expectation of continued assholian conduct. But thus far (he's still got a couple more to go), he's just given a pretty good narrative of his visit there. Definitely something to take at face value. I don't know if he has ulterior motives, but as long as it's an objective look into Iran, I'm interested.
