And now I just found out that OL are allowed to block below the waist 7yds either side of the ball and 5 yds into the secondary. I wonder how many injuries and effed up variations of this shit will be tossed around. New thread in the Col Football forum for the 7 other new rules this year.
With SEC officials you never know whether it's plain incompetence or corruption. The Big 12 is pretty transparent about its officials' evaluation, where they send tape to a retired NFL official who looks at different metrics, like blown calls, and reports back. What does the SEC do? Nobody knows. For all we know all the crews might get together and hang out on the 50-yd line at Bryant-Denny, lay down on the turf and toke up, Dazed and Confused style, reminiscing about their youth idolizing the Bear..
Some teams use the dark tape/gloves on opposing teams. But like I said, LSU helps this with the white jersey. Against bama, the white glove/tape usage by LSU will show up holds more. Maybe thats why we have all the calls against us? Ok, the last part was a joke, for those who miss some of my humor. What little humor I have.
Good humor lad, my post was in jest to begin with. There are not many times that I'm really really serious. What is your take on the new rules?
Our fullback needs to stop making personal fouls. He had three or four last year and one TD called back.
