Fair statement and no doubt there's some truth to it but it might be fueled by statements they make as well:
Fisher and Pellini make over $400,000 a year and have multi-year contracts. That doesn't happen at many schools. It makes them comfortable here and allows them to wait until the right job comes along. Good for the coordinator's careers and good for LSU in the meantime.
Great news. I don't think Jimbo is leaving either. We could very easily loose both of them next year, especially if we take the NC.
Is anyone else hearing that Fisher may be taking the UAB HC job, and I know that Monken is now the top candidate for Latech since Will Muschamp declined the offer.
UAB is a diamond in the rough just like Louisville. Unfortuantely the board is run by CUB that keeps UAB from prospering. Pat Sullivan was a done deal until the board said no due to his Auburn ties... Remember UAB beat LSU. They have always played good teams well. Jimbo will be able to take prop 48 partial qualifiers and be a very big success at UAB. Will be interesting if UAT will sit by and let it happen. He interviews Thursday and the job is his to turn down.
I am not sure if I would consider UAB a diamond in the rough. I hear that High School teams around that area have better attendence. Have to have fan support to sway recruits from Auburn and Bama.
birmingham supports winners.. it will take alot and it starts with money... there are people that will pour money into the program if it begins to win. It will take alot of time, but a guy like Jimbo will get them going on the right track. I am saying that it has alot of potential if things begin going right.
