I think there is only one reason that ABC news would do something like this, $$$$. They are trying to use the popularity of Obama to increase ratings, and thus advertising. By not allowing the minority viewpoint, they are stirring up controversy, which americans in general love to watch, plus it gets the word out even faster. Its not about supporting the nationalized healthcare issue, its about trying to get as many viewers to watch as possible. It always has been, ever since the commercial was invented. I think its safe to assume that foxnews has the conservative viewers locked up. ABC is competing with CNN, NBC and CBS for viewers, and this is an attempt to steal viewers from those other networks. Thats how I see it anyway.

Interesting take on it. If it wasn't ABC, I'd almost buy it. But there is a clear editorial and production policy that drives media - kinda like the creative friction between production and marketing in a factory. End of the day, marketing gets some influence, but production controls quality and the long term survival of the brand. So, I blame this on bankrupt editorial policy.

And, I say again, it's not just at ABC. Our media in general has "jumped the shark"...

I am a guest here and always try to remember that. I would not knowingly break any rules and appreciate the politeness that red used when he pointed out the error of my ways. Everyone rest assured that I hold as much loathing for the republicans as the democrats. I dislike the term "moderate" as it smacks of the "populist" term that was used decades ago when a politician was agreeing with everyone.

I hold out hope that we can go back to following the constitution and work on the problems that are real and not contrived for 30 second sound bites.

I saw one poster refer to another as "a rich white dude". That is wrong on so many levels. We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, even if you don't believe in him. On the last census, when it asked for race I checked "other" and wrote in "Southern American".

When I see someone play a race card, it wounds my soul because they have bought into the mindset that the "Maters in DC" want us to have. A fractured, bickering populace is so much easier to steal from and control.

As Ben Franklin said, "Should we do not stand together, we shall surely hang separately."

That was me, and I think you have missed my point. ABC's advertisers covet middle aged people with disposable income. Giving President Obama a bully pulpit will drive those people away because they by and large are opposed to his brand of socialism. That will drive the broadcast networks to change or go away.

Don't let anyone discourage you XXL. I enjoy your post. Some on here aren't enlightened enough to understand them, so naturally they get their panties in a wad.
