You've likely needed it and since im curious how much fun it is, give me a recap if its worth it.

i think thats that stuff you dip your sandwich in like gravy. au jejeune.

yes but you dont feel near as worthwhile this way. especially amongst other like-minded individuals. we are problem-solvers as a people. I think this is a big cause of this. when we dont have answers we dont know when to admit or see it.

hes used a light bright. no need.

Not at all. I'm paraphrasing an old adage--There is no free lunch. There are costs involved with doing anything but also costs involved with doing nothing.

Once again you are trying to derail the topic into your anti-government mantra. Who said anything about "telling" people what to do? Not me. I also own a pine plantation in north Louisiana and I can tell for damn sure--landowners don't always reforest. It takes over 30 years to harvest a crop of trees. Landowners in their 50's often decide not to replant trees that they will never see harvested. They convert land to pasture and raise cattle. They subdivide it and let people lots to put trailer houses on. Etc, etc. . . .

Most forest internationally are on public land and the governments can do what they want to with them. Deforestation in the Amazon is a huge global problem. Forests in Canada and the US are vital to maintain, preserve, and expand whenever possible, especially in previously deforested areas and we have plenty of them.

Developing incentives to preserve forests to aid in global warming has many other benefits as well. And I have not suggested that all incentives and measure taken must be done by the government. When I last harvested the property, I sold the timber to a plywood company who then donated to me 132,000 seedlings as an incentive to replant. It certainly affected my decision, because I was considering all options.

I'm just advocating the validity of the global warming problem and that there are things we can do to address it. I'm not advocating spending trillions. I'm not advocating big government fixes and I'm not going to debate them. I'm just debunking political objections to the science of global warming. But you have moved on to big government, so you'll have to find a new playmate.

    I should award you a medal . . .

Translation: I'm just arguing for the sake of argument now.

    Jejune adj.

    Naive, simplistic and superficial.

I have not said one damn thing about wanting manage other peoples lives. You made it up. I have said that we have global problems many of which can be easily addressed.

right your proposals are not free but there is no downside. they are magic.

you. you had lots of ideas about what "we" should invest in, and what "we" should do with land. the difference between me and you is i am not telling anyone what to do with their land or what to invest in.

perhaps you should have some international laws passed that say they should reforest like you want. if they want to have prairies and cattle, too bad, red knows best.

so "we " didnt have to do anything. the market worked. because they wanted profits they encouraged private citizens to replant. it required no action on the part of anyone but you and them.

if you havent said one damn thing about managing people, then i dunno how you expect to fix global warming. red says there are costs involved with doing nothing.

You quote me saying "we should" and then declare I'm saying "you must". :insane:

It is clear you have run out of steam on global warming and just talking to yourself like a homeless person.

Exactly. My comments concerning what can be done to improve the planet have nothing to do with advocating big government. You made it up and you are arguing with yourself.

Already asked and answered, you are just repeating yourself.

It's obvious to anybody with foresight that if the climate changes, there will be very expensive adaptations needed to deal with crop failures, energy consumption, coastal innundation, and dozens of other consequences. Consider the costs incurred with the flooding of Manhattan alone.

The human beings on this planet. It's a big planet and will take an overall effort from business, individuals, academia, government, . . . everybody. I advocate things that can be done to improve the situation while we can. It is you that assumes that only governments can act on this.
