I hardly ever drink and when I do it's a few beers...well for an LSU game maybe more than a few.

You guys have this argument all wrong.

It is irrelevant IF marijuana is harmful or not. Or any drug for that matter.

What is relevant is that the Govt. is intruding on choices of individuals. It is these stupid social issues where so-called conservatives show their true colors.

The War on Drugs does nothing more than waste money.

True. People are going to use and abuse drugs and alcohol whether they are legal or not.

Make pot legal and tax it like tobacco.

Of course. But the problem is that so many people have such wild misgivings about what weed does to you that it really fuels the anti-legalization sentiment.

So if/when it is legalized, I would assume that you couldn't be tested for it at work or potential work, right?

Not correct. Companies perform alcohol tests all the time now and alcohol is legal.

That would be to test if you are under the influence. I would assume you could smoke in your off hours if you wanted, as long as you aren't under the influence on the job. Alcohol gets out of your bloodstream in hours, pot takes days/weeks to test negative.

    not really.

if farmers start lacing their milk with cyanide, its still our choice and should be allowed to market? individual choice, right. hell, we know cyanide isnt too healthy.

this is why cigarettes are different because they are specifically poisoned by design. toxins and carcinogens to specifically keep you addicted both mentally and physically. and eventually kill you.

not quite the same with any other products. alcohol is ok in small doses. cigs not really ok in any dose but they got through the door before anyone really knew what was going on.

and now theres too many lined pockets to think thats going to change.

30-45 days with tests these days. There would be and is a need to develop a test that can accurately determine if someone is currently under the influence and not someone that burned one 3 weeks ago.
