If you're Joe Pa and a ga comes in and tells you that he saw Sandusky raping a little boy in the shower you have two choices. Take Sandusky out back and shoot him in the mouth or go to the police yourself and do everything in your power to see that he goes to prison. I can't see how anything less than that is acceptable to anyone. Everything Paterno has ever accomplished is negated by this epic failure to do what was right.

I agree. I have to say, that given Paterno's age, I can't help but think that this is all a throw-back to how things used to be done and covered up. You can't cover sht like this up in today's world. You just can't do it.

No he will be the old guy wearing lipstick with his shirt tied in the corner of some huge dudes cell. Where the huge dude is taking numbers...

Again if he is guilty.... There was a story in texas last week where a guy spent 20 years in jail for a similar crime he never committed. Some kid accused him and came out last week it never happened. the guy said he was innocent the whole time..... See Duke Lacrosse as well
So let the fact come out, but greasy so far.

I'd like to give Paterno the benefit of the doubt...I just don't see the old man doing anything that would tarnish his golden reputation.

I don't know all the details but in my mind I would like to assume that the situation kind of went like this:

"Mr. Paterno, we have some allegations against Sandusky regarding improper contact with a child but we will take care of it, no need to worry."

In which, Paterno continues on his daily business thinking none the lesser that it has been handled.

Of course, I could be wrong and my heart of gold for naive elderly people could come into question. I expect this from Tressel, not Paterno.

That would be ok if it were a he said, he said thing, but we have "witnesses" and that is the troubling part of it. The DC looks like he is headed for prison. Now it is damage control time for PSU and this is where a lot of people will have to fall on the sword, rightly or wrongly.

Now all y'all Louisana folks know you are Catholic. Come on now. With that being said I am a huge LSU fan but if something like this went on at LSU where people were caught molesting children I am out. I can no longer be a LSU fan.
