She is 12 going on 21. She talks about politics, loves Bush, dislikes those who do not, and will argue will people at her school that put down LSU. Her sister is 11 going on 8, and I am not even thinking about taking her. I am going to wait until after I see it, and then read others comments on it to make sure my feelings of the movie are not blinding me to how the images may effect her (or not). Thanks
I'm sure the movie is going to be extremely graphic because there was a story circulating last year that Gibson wanted to make the movie without subtitles. A movie in two dead languages, with no subtitles. Sounds like he'd have to rely on the graphics pretty heavily. Being that he changed his mind in post-production, this movie will be graphic.
But couldn't he have made the bad guys Nazis, Big Tobacco and the gun nuts? That would have been art.
The movie was great, it is not as bad as they have been saying. Although it does depict what they did to him like no other movie has. I feel it is a movie everyone can go and watch, it will give you a reason to talk to your kids and explain to them what it is about. Which is more conversation then most people have with their kids. GREAT MOVIE gets 2 thumbs up!
Well, Jesus could have looked more like his desciples (Jesus was not a long haired white man), and I don't believe in the devine, so the whole thing with the devil and whatnot was kind of blah, but the historical stuff with the Aramaic and the period costumes was neat. Also Jesus isn't supposed to be nailed in the hands; he would have gotten it in the wrists.
Just got back from seeing the passion. It is very graphic and powerful. Half the audience was in tears by the time it was over. I think the nailing thru the hands was more a tribute to iconoclasm than to historical accuracy.
