Isn't it the veeps' job at the conventions to be the attack dogs, so that the actual Presidential candidates can still look, well, Presidential?

you just gave me a good idea. instead of mccain and obama debating and palin and biden debating, mccain should debate biden and obama should debate palin. that would be more entertaining, and probably more informative.
I realize that, and that is a nice start. But when someone says, "...my plan for health care will lower premiums," I want to know how he is going to do that - in a business sense. I realize you can find these things online but every once in a while just telling the country would be nice. Basically it just bothers me that when people go vote for a candidate an alarming number of them do not really know what their plan includes.
I don't think his last speech was the occasion for specifics. I didn't see many specifics from Palin and I don't expect many from McCain.
And 4 networks (BET, Telemundo, TV-1(Frog TV) and another Hispanic one) carried Obama but not Palin. Funny how the liberals pick and choose but the so called unfair and unbalanced networks carried both. I swear, anybody who aligns themselves with liberal democrats ought to have their head examined.
