I guess some here are right as I democrat I dont understand it. Its not redistribution when a republican does it, like nationalizing banks and bailing out corporations with 700 billion. Nope, not at all. Palin just did what she thought was right. Increasing a windfall tax on oil companies to give back to residents. :rolleye33:

It was very much a redistribution of wealth. Some people look at their party and candidates as infallible. There is absolutely no difference between this and what Obama is proposing......none.

****Sabanfan, please insert "in my opinion" wherever you deem it necessary.

I agree, this is really fishy, I don't like any windfalls taxes and that is exactly what she did.

However, blaming the bailout package solely on the GOP is a bunch of crap too. Yes the GOP Administration asked for it. But it was orignally rejected by many Reps as it was rejected by many Dems. But it was the Dems who were clamoring about partisan politics being the reason they couldn't get it passed, because Reps wouldn't come along, when all along if they had been voting party lines, Dems would have gotten it through in the House. Then now that it hasn't had the desired affect, it was the Reps that pushed it through and all their policies that nationalized banks etc... This current bailout situation is a product of both sides screwing us, the people. Dems wanted it to have support of both parties so if it failed (as it is currently is (could change)) they could blame it on the Reps but if it succeeded, they could claim victory. Remeber this a Democratic congress who didn't have to pass a damn thing. Sure people would have been mad but it wouldn't change the fact that they were going to pick up seats in both houses no matter what they did.

Personally I think both parties failed us on this one and to claim one side or the other is at fault is just playing the blame game.

I never said it was or i wasn't, just that it has been there for a long time. I don't know who started it but I know it wasn't Palin. I just said I knew a lot of peeps that would get real happy when their "check" came in the mail. Hell if I didn't hate the cold so much and of course that 6 months of darkness aint all its cracked up to be, I may have moved there myself:grin:
