This may well be true, but let's call a spade a spade here. If you have sick talent on the defensive side of the ball, talent that was recruited to run and participate in a certain type of defensive scheme, why do you forcibly make said talent operate within a radically different scheme? If LSU had, say, 6-5 or 7-4 kinda talent, then by all means experiment and tweak to your heart's content regarding getting your guys "fully immersed and comfortable in it." That's like someone leading me into a bedroom in which Tara Reid is lying naked on the bed, ready and waiting...and I decide at that point to do something other than "lay down the law" with her, so to speak. At that particular point in time, I wouldn't want someone intervening and imposing celibacy on me because, well, getting "fully immersed and comfortable" with the system is, in their mind, better for me in the long run.
