No offense but just to clear up any confusion for anybody it should read USM and not SMU. Southern Methodist University and University of Southern Mississippi are two very different football programs at this point in time.

Cal has only themselves to blame. If they would have played Southern Miss when they were supposed to and not pussed out they would not have been jumped this week.

If Cal had beaten Southern Miss 26-16 when they were a 7 point favorite then they would be going to the Rose Bowl, not Texas. Instead they chose to do this when they were a 21 point favorite. Plain and simple. Play the games when you schedule them. One fact is the Hurricane didn't even hit there. Southern Miss was planning on playing the game.

wow that's a great point which has a lot of validity. I'm not sure where you got that or if you thought of it but I had forgotten about that. I remember they were only a 7 pt favorite the week of the hurricane.

Wow..... Talk about Auburn getting no respect hehe....

Right now on Outside the Lines on ESPN the focus story is about the "latest BCS controversy" --- Cal being left out of the BCS and being replaced by Texas becuase of a sudden swing of votes.

And because Cal looked awesome at HOME against Oregon. Why does everybody either dismiss or forget this game?

    Almost the exact same.

Cal has to come back to win and an Oregon receiver that was wide open dropped a pass that would have won the game for them. 4-7 Kansas on the road vs. 5-6 Oregon at home. Seems pretty equal to me.

Oddly enough, that's what the writers were giving Texas before this past week, and especially after the Kansas game. That's just what happens when you play a poor game against a poor team.

obviously you watch enough football to know oregon was drastically improved moreso than most teams from the time they played california compared to when UT played Kansas.

Kansas regressed as the year went on. Oregon State improved and Oregon had to face two teams on a roll in their last 3 games which cost them a bowl game (cal and oregon state).

only one team i can think offhand that improved moreso is Virginia Tech. pity Aubarn, this game is gonna be a Fat L on their once unblemished schedule and all the pundits will say how right they were to vote AU out of the NC.

bryan randall will get ACC player of the year and MVP of the Sugar.
