I have to disagree here. I feel like Pittman was overshadowed on the DL by Wroten and Williams last year, but he will seen as an impact player this year.
I can tell you the reason JV has been playing the way he has since the sugar bowl. THE BAR. Since that game i can harldy remember going out and not seeing him.
BS. Many people have said this & it is simply untrue. He went to the bar every night during that season too and it never affected his performance. There are reasons he hasn't been the back he was in 03, but the bar is not one of them. IMO, the most overrated player is Matt Flynn. He's good, but the performance we saw in the Peach Bowl was not his doing. I wouldn't say Bowe is overrated since nobody considers him that amazing, everybody accepts his inconsistency & just considers him talented & with a lot of potential.
I think for me it is jamarcus just because I think he is going to be unbelievable this year. Not sure he can live up to my expectations. I have heard that he is making great decisions. However perception as a tiger fan whole I would have to say Bowe. He has been very inconsistent but we all hope and pray it had something to do with his eyes.
Not the change the subject of the thread, but I wholeheartedly agree with this one. I still think back to the SECCG last year.. Steltz got beat on that first long TD pass, and it was at that moment that I realized how much I had been taking JD for granted.
Being overrated is not a problem with the players but a problem with the fans and the media. Flynn is a damn good quarterback. But he is still being overrated by the fans and media based on one game. Perrilloux is being overrated based on high school rep. Some posters above are suggesting that certain receivers or running backs are overrated because they aren't perfect, in their opinion. Overexpectations by observers cause them to overrate players. This is a fault and failure of the fans, not the players.
