LOL. but seriously, Oregon's one of the Top 12 teams over the last decade. the 32-7 run they've been on over the last three seasons is not even as good as the 33-3 run they had between 1999-2002 (they were ranked in the Top 10 every week back then). since 2000, there has only been one season they haven't cracked the Top 10 at some point, and they've finished in the both the Top 12 and the Top 15 just as many times as we have since 2000 (six times each).

as for big wins, they haven't had as many has we have, but they are no stranger to beating powerhouse football teams from other conferences:

2007 -- they beat the #2 Big Ten team, Michigan (the Big Ten had four teams finish in the Top 25 that year). Michigan beat Florida that year in Florida (Tebow's Heisman year).

2006 -- they beat Big 12 Champions Oklahoma, who had an 11-win season (Adrian Peterson's last year)

2003 -- they made the cover of Sports Illustrated by beating Big Ten Champions Michigan (who finished the regular season at #4). the Big Ten had five teams finish in the top 25 that year, including three in the top 10: Michigan, #8 Iowa, and #4 Ohio State. that Michigan team had the best RB in college football that year, as well as future Pro Bowlers Braylon Edwards and LaMarr Woodley and future All-Pro CB Leon Hall.

2001 -- they finished #2 in the nation after beating Big 12 Champions and #3-ranked Colorado in the Fiesta Bowl (that Colorado team had six All-Americans). the Big 12 had four teams finish in the top 10 that year: Colorado, #8 Nebraska, #6 Oklahoma, and #5 Texas.

2000 -- they beat the #2 Big 12 team, Texas. the Big 12 had five teams finish in the Top 25 that year, including National Champions Oklahoma and preseason #1 Nebraska. that Texas team had future Pro Bowlers Leonard Davis and Casey Hampton as well as two other guys that were taken Top 5 overall in the NFL Draft

I agree about the Ducks and I love the Ducks ! It will be a great game but some points being made are very real. This bunch under Chip has not won the big show down game !

This LSU vs Ducks game will be huge and the world of college football will be watching ! LSU will and I say will push the Ducks with our Bigs and that is the take most are saying. Nothing the Ducks can do will change what is going to happen on the line. Looking at the 2 bowl games you see how the Duck attack go wack when it runs into Bigs !

That's impressive. Now Let's compare with LaSalleAve's post:

So in the same time period, has nearly three times as many wins over ranked opponents, and played a tougher schedule each of the last ten years.

    We win.

Statistically, Stanford's defense was better than LSU's in 2010 (17.3 per game). Yet Oregon hung 52...that's right...52 on them. That's where my logic comes from.
The biggest reason Auburn's D was so effective in that game was Nick Fairley. LSU doesn't have that disruptive force that Fairley was (Late hits and all). Oregon couldn't handle that match up.

    Stanford, really…..

Their cake ass schedule and you are gonna compare their D to ours…..
SO you gonna also say that Boise State really had the number 2 D in the land? TCU number 1? Look at who they freaking played.

Really man, if you really think we don’t have the DT’s then don’t even try to pass the ball, just run it down our throat….. Go for it…Really, I want a rent-a-win….

Stanford played 2 ranked teams last year, 1 of which was in a bowl game. The fact that a mediocre D like AU gave you so much trouble is more than enough “LOGIC” for LSU fans. If you really, REALLY think it was all Nick fairly that beat you, then that doesn’t say much for the strength of your team….

I also am 100% sure you have not and will not play another team with the blitz packages we have.

Stanford only gave up 17 points a game in a league averaging 28.6, take out the Oregon route, that average goes down to 14.5. They shut out Washington and Oregon State. Two teams LSU struggled with. To imply that Stanford's D was soft is crazy.

So Oregon hanging 52 on a #4 team does mean something. I don't care who you are, or what conference you're in. When was the last time LSU hung half a hundred on a ranked team? 3 teams have done it to LSU (Florida, Georgia in 2008 and Arkansas in 2007).

Did I say that LSU doesn't have the DT's, so we should be able to run all over them? Oregon will run a balanced attack.

To talk down Oregon because they couldn't beat a team that LSU lost to as well, is asinine. Yes Fairley was a terror on D in the NC game. He blew up so many plays. He's a great player in a defense that let him excel. Sure there were other things that happened in that game that contributed to the lose (or helped AU win), but NF's play was huge for AU.

100% guarantee that huh? Oregon O goes up against one of the best blitzing D's everyday in practice. In 2010, Oregon had 33 sacks by 11 different players (22 by DL's, 11 by LB's or DB's). LSU had 34 by 11 players (15 by DL's, 19 by LB's or DB's). 2009 Oregon had 36 sacks by 13 different players. LSU had 20 sacks by 10 players.
This shows that Oregon's DL's put more pressure on the QB then LSU for whatever reason. LSU had to bring pressure from LB's and DB to create that same pressure.

I'm sure you'll pick this apart, but facts are facts.
