Shooter was a Las Vegas resident. And I don't think this was a case of some guy "going off." He got 8 guns into a hotel/casino in what is generally considered the most security-conscious city in the country. Was able to secure a room overlooking a venue with 30,000+ targets, established two shooting platforms, and even set up his own surveillance cameras so he would know when the police were closing on him. This was a very meticulously planned mass ambush.
Read something on daily mail that some woman was kicked out of that concert about an hour before the shooting saying "you are all going to die". I never liked going to mass events like that, but that would have been my Q to leave.
