Outside Observers More Confident Than Tiger Fans

Outside observers see glimpses of aggressive, dominant play. We scored 28 points in the 2nd quarter against a good Florida defense. Then we pretty much coasted.

Insiders, or fans like us, see the inconsistency, poor ST play, and busted coverage in our secondary.

But this is a young team and I'm not sure we've been pushed to our limit yet. Miss St and Florida both gave us good games, but I don't think our guys ever felt like they were going to lose.

So the outsiders see us as a dangerous team. All the way around. Alabama may very well bring out the best in us.

 

lsu has had a weak schedule to this point, but has the hardest schedule in the country remaining. dipshit outsiders aren't aware.

 

Agreed. Florida and Miss St are both good teams. We caught Miss St early and Florida without its starting QB. The story of the 2015 LSU Tiger's is yet to be written. We've got 4 tough games left in the regular season.

If this team improves, we can win the division, conference and make the playoffs.
If this team remains inconsistent, we could finish as a 2 or even a 3 loss team with a descent bowl game.

 

So much depends on the kind of tobacco the coach chews on gameday. I found that when I chewed Red Man on the Tiger sideline, we lost by an average of 20 points. When I chewed Skoal, we lost by an average of only 16 points. I don't think Les Miles chews tobacco, but we've seen him chew grass. I believe that was the last time LSU beat Bama in Tiger Stadium. That's sad because it was such a long time ago. November of 2010, in fact. Perhaps if Les chews a combination of Bryant Denny turf and Skoal bandits, the Tigers can pull this one out.

If we win out, we're in the playoff.

Using extremely rough estimates, I feel like Bama, at Ole Miss, and the SEC Championship game (assuming Florida) would be 50/50 games. Ark and the Aggies more like 80% since we get them at home. That would make it an 8% chance we make the playoff. Lot of football to be played.
