The Auburn game was on the road, yet they want to drop them. The SEC plays close on the road and it's bad. All others play close on the road and they pulled out a great win.
They were playing that football power house washington state, they should drop like a rock but will probably pass auburn in the ap for #2.
Auburn was also on the road...against a SEC home crowd. 74,000 fans to 35,000(off of WSU website http://wsucougars.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/stats/2006-2007/06wsu05.html). PAC-10 is pathetic
The talking heads all said Auburn isn't ready beacause they struggled against So. Carolina. But USC doen's get penalized for struggling against Wash St., who Auburn crushed 40-14. They also don't get hurt for keeping the Arizona game close. We beat them by 42.
But he does have a point. Every OTHER team in the country has to play well in order to keep their ranking. Look, UGA lost a spot in the polls when they struggled to beat CU. Other teams would lose ground if they had too close a game against inferior talent...but not USC.
Ok, I was pi$$ @$s drunk last night when I started this thread. Vodka and not eating tends to do that to ya. Anyways, I'm still sick of the politics of college football, but probably wouldn't have blown a gasket last night had I been sober.:hihi:
