You're totally blinded by your need to defend the president at all costs on all fronts. His historical comparison is off in fact and in intent. The crusaders weren't motivated by hate but by religous desire and quest for land and power. They lived in a violent time we're BOTH sides Christian and Islam committed similar acts of barbarism on each other and anyone in their way. The crusaders and the Muslims weren't out of touch with the time but an expression of it. ISIS and other radical Islamic groups are by EVERY measure out of step with the times. Their actions are condemned by all including the majority of Islam. That makes his comparison FACILE by your own definition. He isn't able to separate facts from what he wants. This internal conflict is what you confuse with deep thought.
I am denying that it is about Islam to ISIS, Pride, but they are fucking crazy ass zealots who have a perverted perspective of Islam. What I am saying is that there have been instances in history where Groups have killed in the name of Christianity too but they were crazy ass zealots too who had a perverted perspective of Christianity. Those people who murder in the name of Islam are not true Muslims, they are murderers. Just like the people who have killed in the name of Christianity were not true Christians, they were murderers
there is no difference there Pride. I thought you were not religious. Why are you carrying water for one? They all have a history of murder and tyranny, why can't you accept that?
It's not carrying water. If one stinks more, I say so. Yet when it comes to everything on this planet, we all like to be "equals".
No, I'm really not. I'm very good at recognizing when a certain news outlet wants to make "news" by taking comments out of context and implying that the meaning of those words might be hostile in nature toward Christians. This is no different from the narrative about Obama that conservatives have espoused for years.....that the man is a closet Muslim. In reality his comments were aimed at tamping down a rising tide of Anti-Islamic sentiment here in the US and strike a chord of unity at the National Prayer Breakfast, which is a gathering of ministers from every major religion represented in the country. This is more an example of the trivialization of the news than anything else. You guys are all riled up about something that is hardly even newsworthy. You like to say I carry water for the President. You carry water for every conservative cause. More times than not the President comes down on the side of reality and practicality, which is not that hard to do when you consider the silly corners the Republicans back themselves into. Right now is one of those times; in the absence of anything of substance to criticize the President on, now we have National Prayer Breakfast-Gate. The economy is much better, Winston. Inflation hasn't consumed us. Obamacare is working. Debt hasn't crushed us. Gay Marriage hasn't collapsed society. I guess you guys have to have something to talk about.....
