I didn't say I would ditch the rifle, just add to the arsenal. I could use the camel to get the distance needed for safe use of the RPG. As was said in Die Hard, "Now I have an RPG, Ho Ho Ho!"

I've read this three times and I still have no idea what you are trying to say.

The terrorists don't. We are killing them wherever we find them. What is wrong with letting our muslim allies know that we aren't going after them, too!

Well, I suppose we kind of agree. I think you are missing the point of the President's assertion here: Obama was saying that just as the Crusaders killed in the name of Christianity so does ISIS kill in the name of Islam......in neither case are the parties true representatives of the teaching of the their respective religions, but have perverted select scripture to fit their agenda. At least this was my take on it. I don't think he was shaming Christians by any means but rather drawing a comparison that the terrorists are not real representatives of Islam.

Hitler was indeed acting in the name of Christianity, perhaps not acting as a theocratic leader but his speeches and the propaganda that he used to dupe the German people were riddled with talk of God's Providence over his push for a master race, belittling the Jews as the murderers of Christ. And I am glad that you brought up Hitler's killing of 1.5 million Christians because it is no different than ISIS who have murdered more Muslims than Christians. It is proof positive that neither ISIS or the Nazi's were proponents of anything that one might associate with a loving God, but with power and control. What better vehicle for controlling people than thru the tug of religion?

that is your opinion Winston....one in which I respectfully disagree with you about in most cases. he's had his moments, like any President, but for the most part I believe he has shown good leadership

And what in earth do you mean? He posed a very simple question to a "peaceful" msa girl and he got a very unpeaceful and not surprising answer. They are all this way, every single muslim would answer this question the same way.

NC the problem with the president's comparison is that they are 500-1000 years apart in time. The world was so radically different then that any comparison with today is meaningless. The muslims in the crusaders' day acted the same as the Christians...they raped murdered and destroyed their enemies in the same way. There was no difference. Today there is!!! It is real and fundamental. That is the same as comparing the actions with cro magnan man from 40000 years ago with a Frenchman's today.
The president was facile and added nothing to the debate. That is mostly what he has been in his public pronouncements and policy positions.

This is what we call a erroneous conclusion based on a sample size of one.

To say Hitler/Crusades were in the name of Christianity but NOT say ISIS isn't fighting for Islam is false.
