In college football you can excel in different ways than in the NFL.

    1) You can make it by on sheer talent alone

    2) You can make it by on sheer knowledge

In cat. #1 you get players like Ryan Leaf, Dan Wilkinson, and every other high round bust.

For #2 you have guys like Fred Booker, Trev Faulk who know how to play but are not physically talented enough.

In the NFL, you have to have a good mix of both to succeed.

Obviously, Trev didn't have much of #2, hence his short lived NFL career.

No doubt TA is a friggin idiot. He was All-American and Butkus Award Winner but he wasn't a great player and IMO the dude sucked. He was on a Nebraska team wherein he benefited from a great defense that took off against Colorado in 1992. He never graded higher than 70% as a rush end.

Manhandled? Try 3 friggin points by UGA. Yeah Trev, UGA took it to us.

I'm sick of Trev. I don't want constant praise for LSU or anything, but just give the team a little credit. All week the "experts" were picking Georgia, not to mention all the "experts" who had to bash Tiger Stadium while expertly explaing how LSU could never beat such a level headed QB like Greene or the Bulldogs.

I can respect his college playing days. But as a college football expert, he comes off like an ass.

Well, I see we all agree that Trev is a little unfair in the dealing of his "cracks", but Trev is an analyst for all of college football. He is paid to comment on every game that ESPN wants to talk about, meaning he has to watch segments of each game, on TV himself, nowhere close to the action. Also, since he is a studio analyst he never see's teams live all season, meaning he has to base everything off video's, accounts, and stats from the game and the players. So he didn't see that the two interceptions weren't necessarily Greene's fault, because they were tipped, one by Webster, and one off his own players helmet. He also did not see the pressure LSU got on Greene all day, and to Greene's credit, sometimes beat the pressure. He also, in his "analysis" failed to observe that Randall Gay did not play until the second half, and then only for a few plays while Webster was out, had he started our defense would have been better, much as how Georgia would have been better with Gibson playing, arguably neutralizing each other. That gives a little hit to his "georgia's missing players would have made the difference" claim. And the last is that as in the case of Georgia, LSU's receivers dropped balls, Mauck threw an interception, and had trouble blocking Georgia's D at times. Although LSU, specifically Andrew Whitworth, made Pollock a non-factor in the game, much as Georgia did to Clayton, that last touchdown was supposed to go to him but he was covered. So give credit where it's due, LSU played well, Georgia played well, both made their own mistakes, and both made plays on the other. I would not want to play the again. That's the only sure conclusion.

Other than that Trev Alberts is a studio analyst and nothing more, he doesn't make either team what it is, and he surely doesn't have any fans.:geaux:

Honestly I think UGA probably is a more talented team than LSU. On a neutral field with no injuries maybe they would beat us. But guess what Trev, football isn't played that way. He acts like we didn't freaking drop balls or have a snap go by the QB. I agree with some of what he said but get a clue Trev.

Only in Trev Alberts' world could a team beat another team and the team that loses still be better. Why do we even play the games? Why don't we all just let Trev tell us who is better before we start?

Last year, if Miami and Ohio State would have played on a neutral field 10 times, Miami would have won 8. But, they didn't win when it counted, did they?

BTW, I wouldn't call the Georgia Dome for the SECC a "neutral field" if UGA is playing.

true. I wouldn't call the Sugar Bowl a neutral site for the National Championship if LSU is playing
