First of all, I didn't know it was possible for a top- 5 LSU team to go into Tuscaloosa, beat an undefeated top-5 Alabama team on Saturday and have Tiger fans whining and moaning by Tuesday.

Second of all, ramah, Auburn is good. I don't know how long it will take for it to sink in to everyone but they have three 1st-rounders on their offensive line, a damn good running back, and very good size and athleticism at receiver. Even so, they would be roughly tied with us on points per game, except that their average is boosted greatly by the fact that they scored 63 on Ball State, 49 on Kentucky, and 48 on South Carolina.

Third of all, I wouldn't exactly point to Spurrier's 24 ppg at South Carolina as a great acheivement - Kentucky and Arkansas are averaging the same, with less talent.

And finally, I guess you didn't watch Russell lead us back in the 2nd half against Bama, and then make the clutch game-winning throw in overtime. He played a hell of a game and is having a great season. Matt Flynn is our backup quarterback. Russell is better. Get over it.

Maybe the reason we don't exhibit a vertical passing game is because that isn't how LSU plays football. LSU wants to establish a strong running game that will control the clock and throw in some play action. LSU's offensive goal is to control the clock. Just because we have a QB with a strong arm and WR's with blazing speed that doesn't mean we are going to change our philosophy. Football teams run what has always worked for them. I would love to see the ball thrown deep more often to put up points, but that isn't how LSU plays football.
