Our defense may not be doing the best job, but our offense had it going and they kinda lost their swagger. We can kill Bama, if only one of them shows up in the second half.
Did they lose their swagger or did the Bama D step up? I mean, give em a little credit damn. They were playing poor D until they got a little confidence. They have been playing BAMA D the last few series.
I wasnt cheering for him to get hurt. But he got hurt and is out of the game. There is a difference. Just pointing out he was playing well. Geesh.
you dont blitz if you dont have to. im sure pelini wanted to see how the front four would do. they didnt get it done early, so he tried more stunts and it didnt work. second half more blitzing. especially getting up early 14 i have no problem with what pelini did.
Yes, we did look confused at times. It looked like we had trouble getting players in the right position and getting subs in the game on time. It resembled a chinese fire drill at times. Don't know how it looked on TV, but from the stands, I couldn't believe how wide open Bama WRs were. Our DBs looked lost most of the night. Good things happened when we got pressure on the QB ... a big fumble and INT in the red zone. Not sure why we aren't doing that more often.
Darry Beckwith got hurt early and was replaced by Cutrera, a freshman LB. This may have influenced Pellini to play conservative defense in the first half. Also I believe they were determined to stop Darby and challenge Wilson to beat us with the pass. Nobody expected Wilson to pass that well based on his earlier performances.
