it's not about who wasn't coming as much as JA wasnt smart enough to interview Leach or Gundy, he wasn't smart enough to employ a search firm, he wasn't smart enough to sell the process... he was intent on hiring ed, perception be damned, and that was dumb, and put ed in a hole early to those, like me, who thought the hire dubious at best had he had a proper search and conducted a few interviews, he could have done the same thing and when the questions came, alluded to just not being able to meet unreasonable terms perception means everything when asking the people you pissed off to continue to contribute to the university
Very possible, doubt we ever know. Like I said, I'm no fan of big nose Joe but I always wonder what "I'm not happy with the process means" because as I see it there weren't a hell of a lot of options.
Doesnt matter Baw. If you were gonna pay somebody millions of dollars to run your business, would you only interview 3 people? You are confusing hiring with interviewing.
Fair enough Yet I have to ask, would you want Leach? I love the guy, as long as he is someone else's coach. Gundy? There was a time when I did want him as the coach here but have come off of that and really glad he isn't here, just my opinion. Those were just two. So maybe as was eluded to before that he did talk to others and there was no interest. I don't think a search firm would have produced shit for the reasons I've stated, there was no one left to pick from. I think had O fallen on his face THEN you would have seen the firm and the hoopla Again, just my .02
