One misgiving I had with Orgeron is his ability to attract and hire top-notch coaches for his staff. I think Orgeron has answered this with the hiring of Canada as OC. So maybe for some of you, the sky isn't totally falling this morning. The second test for Coach O and his staff is to finish strong in recruiting. We need to keep Brennan, and I think we will, and sign some linebackers.
Don't forget we need a good special teams coach and a place kicker that can consistently kick it deep in the end zone too!
Coach O in your classroom? Will have to wait for his report card from you so we know if we can keep him.
This is a good hire and much needed to stop the building negative perception, whether it was right or wrong. Remember, if we would have waited until after the season to fire Les a lot of this uncertainty would be happening and would take longer to resolve.
Happy to see this done, and I think this was about as good a hire as we could have gotten at this point.
From what I've read he seems to know offense and can be multiple. Glad that is over, now stop the bleeding of Louisiana kids migrating to Sisfuckingston Alabama
”Coach O and Joe have been very clear about what they expect,” said Canada. “With the talent already here and what we will recruit, we can put together one of the best offenses in the country. We’re going to develop quarterbacks, score points and bring some excitement to the offense here at LSU. And of course, we’re going to do it the right way - the LSU way.” http://lsu.247sports.com/Article/Matt-Canada-talks-about-the-LSU-OC-job-49795336
