Benny, I hope some of the LSU fans take you up on your offer. The campus at OSU is my favorite in the PAC-10... much more of a collegiate setting than Neon U down the road, fighting the north/south traffic of I-5.
Speaking of OSU basketball, your greatest coach, Ralph Miller, came to you from the Hawkeyes. He was my favorite Iowa coach.
We also "gave" Lute Olsen to Arizona, come to think of it.

Damn, now I'm depressed.

Just know, Tiger fans, you made the best possible impression any visiting fan could ever hope to experience. You were incredibly generous, yet competitive in a fun way. Contrast that to Fresno State where my wife and I literally feared for our safety and had beer bottles thrown in our direction, people screaming at us at the top of their lungs to go the F home. Terrible. I would go back to LSU in a heartbeat. I will never go to Fresno again. People in our tailgater still talk about LSU with reverence two years later, and I am sure we will as long as we live. Much respect in Corvallis for LSU.

Okay, LSU fans, does that description of Fresno State fans not sound like plagerism from an Auburn board--about visits to LSU? We have an internet rep of mythic proportions: burning vans, throwing urine on babies and old ladies, etc.

The OSU fans I came in contact with 2 years ago were lots of fun. I'm happy that you guys enjoyed Baton Rouge.

Taking into consideration the overwhelming hospitality LSU showed Oregon State fans when we opened our respective football seasons two years ago at Tiger Stadium, I would love to return the favor. Unfortunately, it'll probably be too cold or rainy for tailgating, and I also don't know how many Tiger fans would make the trip to Oregon for the game.

If, however, I know there are any LSU fans coming to Corvallis, I would do everything I could to make their stay more comfortable. One idea I had was to us the Alumni Center in Corvallis, which is directly across the street from Gill Coliseum. We could have a pregame function for both LSU and Oregon State fans which could also be a fund raiser for Katrina relief.

Any thoughts from the good people in Tiger country?
