good lord. 3 starting Ducks convicted of crimes in the past week.

QB Masoli -- 2nd Degree Buglary -- suspended for 1 year
RB James -- Mis Harassment of his Girlfriend -- suspended 1 game
K Beard -- Harassment in a Street Fight -- suspended 1 game

add those to these and i figure the NCAA will be starting a lack of institutional control investigation soon.

Kelly's action was the latest twist to the Ducks' offseason of disarray.

-- Beard was placed on probation after entering his plea.

-- Linebacker Kiko Alonso pleaded not guilty to drunken driving charges in Eugene Municipal Court last week. Kelly suspended Alonso for the 2010 season upon learning of the arrest.

-- Defensive end Matt Simms was dismissed by Kelly after he was cited on assault charges last month. Simms pleaded guilty to physical harassment for striking a man he thought had beaten Beard.

-- Receiver Jamere Holland was dismissed from the team after posting vulgar comments and criticizing Kelly on the Facebook social networking site.

Some Oregon fans came into the cafe yesterday and I asked them what the heck was going on up there with all the arrests of their players. I said, "What's the coach going to do about it?".

One guy immediately said, without hesitation,..."He's gonna quit recruiting California !!" :grin:.

EUGENE, Ore. - The off-season legal woes shaping the 2010 Duck football season have now affected the potential roster for the 2011 football season, too.

Jeremiah Masoli, the first player on the field for spring football despite a suspension from play for the entire 2010 season, won't take the field as a Duck in 2011, either.

The star quarterback, who shared team Most Outstanding Player honors with rusher LaMichael James and led the Ducks to a Pac-10 championship and the Rose Bowl, has been dismissed from the team, the athletic department said Wednesday.

The announcement came less than two days after police in Springfield cited Masoli during a traffic stop on suspicion of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and failing to stop for a driveway or sidewalk. Masoli was cited to appear in Springfield Municipal Court on the charges on June 24 at 8 a.m.

Talk about a fall from grace.

Oregon has been recruiting some guys who make terrible decisions. What's going on up there?

Unbelievable how stupid some kids can be. He will have to live with this for the rest of his life. Hopefully he can turn it around.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP)—Suspended Oregon quarterback Jeremiah Masoli was kicked off the team Wednesday, two days after a police officer cited him for marijuana possession and driving infractions.
In a statement, the university said Masoli was dropped because he did not “adhere to obligations” outlined by coach Chip Kelly. The coach, through a spokesman, declined to comment.

A Springfield police officer cited Masoli late Monday on charges of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and failure to stop when entering a roadway, said Sgt. Tom Borchers of the Springfield Police Department.
Masoli can either pay a fine or contest the accusations at a June 24 court appearance, Borchers said.
Kelly suspended Masoli in March for the entire 2010 season after the QB pleaded guilty to burglary for his role in the theft of laptops and a guitar from a fraternity. Masoli remained on scholarship and practiced with the team this spring in hopes of returning for the 2011 season.
Masoli has one season of eligibility remaining.
Masoli threw for 2,147 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. He also rushed for 668 yards and 13 touchdowns in a season that ended with a Rose Bowl loss to Ohio State.
The San Francisco native finished his Oregon career with 1,386 rushing yards, the most ever by a Ducks quarterback.
