We are talking about the history or discrimination in the military. and who the Fuck are you to say someone has mental illness or not? You a doctor? I mean if we are all just throwning out a diagnosis for people Christians believe in a space zombie and ghosts. That's pretty fucking insane if you ask me. Let's not let them serve anymore.
Went right over your head. I will say it again, serving in the military is NOT a right! I'm not sure if you understand what that means. This is why they have a screening process. My own son wants to serve more than anyone I've ever met but doesn't qualify because my ex wife didn't believe smoking was harmful. I originally signed up for radar repair but guess what? I can't tell the red wire from the green one. There is a reason they didn't pitch bomb disposal to me after finding that out. They also only show you jobs you "qualified". For based on your test score. You roll a 75 on the ASVAB and your ass becomes a cook not a fucking fighter pilot. They can,and are WELL within their rights to be as selective as they want to be.
No I understand that. If you go through a screening process and checked by a physician and the physician says no, that's perfectly understandable. If you get denied because of your background, or because of health problems I get that. But how can you deny someone before the screening and hiring process even begins?
Gender identity issues and gender dysphoria are considered mental illnesses and mental disorders. You could certainly make an argument that part of the discomfort and stress that someone with gender dysphoria experiences comes from external sources ie the unwillingness of society to accept them. If you think that forcing that situation into the military is going to fix anything, you are sadly mistaken. There's probably no place more stressful for a gender dysmorphic than the military. By its very nature, having gender dysphoria and entering the military will result in the exacerbation of mental illness behaviors. There were no studies done by anyone to determine the potential consequences of having people with gender identity issues in the military but Obama forced that situation to happen anyway. As the commander-in-chief, any President should be considering decisions that make our military the most effective and the most cohesive. Obama played social scientist by engineering the situation as it is today. If somebody with gender dysphoria wants to be in the military than my opinion is that they should keep it to themselves and get their surgery or reassignment when their military service is completed. The dog has to wag the tail when lives are at stake, not the other way around
So is ADHD you are reaching and unless you're a doctor you aren't qualified to determine who is or isn't fit before they are seen and screened by a physician.
