When I lived out in Barataria bay, I bowfished gar at nigh all the time. I shot at a few Nutria too, but never hit one. I used an ancient Bear bow that had wheels and not cams. I still have it.
Hunting skills can be developed.....why I may have perfected my stalking and peeping skills over time.
Same goes for fishing. It isn't as easy as wetting a line, gotta know where they are and what they like to eat.
I hunt 8 months out of the year on the avg of 3 days a week. Deer, duck, turkey, squirrel, dove, geese and predator/ nuisance animals. Definitely hunting.
Definitely fishing. I gave up hunting the Fall my son was born because I wanted to spend all my hunting time with him instead. After one season away from it, I didn't miss it one bit.
When I was a kid I hunted and fished like a maniac. At about 35 for no reason, I decided I was through hunting ducks, the last thing I hunted. I like hunting, I like talking hunting, but it for some reason became something I did not want to do anymore. It certainly ain't the shooting bit, I target shoot and reload, like a maniac, these days.
