The current Louisiana Budget proposes to cut higher education by 20% this year, and by 20% on top of that next year. Higher education is one of only two areas not protected in the Constitution, and Louisiana consistently ranks at the bottom of the nation in all areas of education, kindergarten through college. There is an online petition on http://ultoday.com that aims to protect higher education in Louisiana by amending the constitution. When you sign it, it eMails all of your state and national elected officials, and your submission notes which school you support. Please take a second and let the Legislature hear from us.
